Hospital A is a new 170 bed facility construction project that Hill-Rom got engaged in early in its development. Set to open in 2020, Hospital A took an untraditional approach to the design and planning process by hiring a General Contractor (GC) who, in turn, engaged an Architect and Equipment Planner. The GC also turned to Hill-Rom for our clinical expertise to ensure that all design concepts were aligned with owner’s clinical objectives while respecting project budgets.
With this approach, GC is able to manage the project more effectively by having a direct line of communication with both the customer and product supplier thereby minimizing confusion on how products are meant to be installed, configured and used to optimize patient satisfaction and caregiver workflow.
For our part, Hill-Rom is supporting all facets of the design and planning process for Hospital A and is serving as a single source supplier for the majority of patient room equipment which facilitates the project budget, timeline, implementation and integration to enhance outcomes for patients and their caregivers.
