As a new construction project that started in 2016, Brescia Private Hospital – a part of Fondazione Poliambulanza and located in Brescia, Italy – had a vision to build 9 new Operating Rooms equipped with the latest technology and innovations to perform a variety invasive and non-invasive procedures. In October 2019, Brescia opened their doors to the community with 5 general operating rooms dedicated to cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology and hemodynamics procedures, 3 operating rooms focused on minimally invasive surgeries, and 1 hybrid operating room for advanced image-guided surgery.
Only one year later (October 2020), Brescia had already performed over 3000 procedures, approximately 20% of which are cardiac and vascular related. Further, the hybrid OR design had received nationwide recognition for its size, technology, robotic and imaging capabilities that allows surgeons to clearly navigate through complex procedures.
In collaboration with Operamed, a leading Italian distributor partner that designs, supplies and installs prefabricated medical systems, Hillrom was engaged in all design and planning aspects to ensure that all operating room goals for technology, workflow, safety and efficiency were achieved within the budget constraints of the project.
